An Ounce of Perception

The weekend brought a good deal of snow to New York—despised by most, but not to a few of us wintry types—and also a head-wracking sickness to me which has degenerated into a mere , albeit nasty, cold.

Escapee episode 36 is up, and I sure as heck hope the next couple weeks will bring good fortune. If not, I'll at least be able to breath again and maybe spend some more time with my wife.

Part of This Complete Breakfast

I'm hoping that in about one month's time I'll start to have more time for more interesting posts here. Everyone else has 'em. But for now, I'll just say:
  • The previous two Escapee episodes are up. #34 and #35.
  • If you haven't already, check out Josh Wentz's latest podcast (Downcast #26). If you don't know who Mike Oldfield is, you should be introduced (and there's no better place than there). If you do know who Mike Oldfield is but have opted not to listen to his music, I may have a problem with you. What's not to like about a brilliant English eccentric (even if he is a jerk sometimes)? Though I'll be the first to admit he's got a few hunks of ugly coal in his collection of gems.
  • I actually bought a box of Pirates of the Caribbean cereal the other day. Sometimes marketing totally works on me—just once at any given time. Marisa also once bought some Finding Nemo ice-cream. That's why I married her. Now and then you've got to throw all reason to the wind.
  • Richie Procopio, colleague and friend, gave me the first season of 24 for my birthday. I've tried to avoid this show, knowing that despite the subject matter, I'd probably get interested if I saw it. But at least in watching in now, I'm so far behind the current seasons that I don't have to hear everyone yapping about it in the office.
