Take Your Best Stab at the Beast
All in one today: nerve-wracking interview and U2 concert. Hard to look forward to the second half of the day when you're stricken with anxiety about the first half. But oh, when that second half comes...
Have a good weekend, everyone—and when the chaos lifts from this weekend, things might be different, or very much the same, for me.

Will do, Darren. I, too, have been to concerts that had good sound and bad sound (my first Rush show), despite the bands' performances.
By the way, I'm going to this concert solely because Devon offered them to me because she had to go and make a baby and couldn't attend herself. :) Thanks again, Devon!
They're among the cheaper of seats available on this tour. Tickets prices have gotten insane. At this same very concert, some tickets are going for over $1,000. Insane. I'm disappointed with U2 on that. I remember a live show recording I heard in which Bono said he was disgusted that some people had to pay $500 to get in. He said U2 wasn't worth it. So what's up with $1,000+ ?
Update: interview over with. Feeling good about it. We'll see.
Glad the interview went well. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Now go enjoy that concert!
When do you hear about the job?

Well, the word on the street—i.e. Richie, my friend and boss and one of the guys who interviewed me—said they're not likely to announce anything today. Maybe tomorrow. Oh well. I'll surely be posting, even if I don't get it.
That's what you get for having BABIES.
Actually, dig this. There is a girl that looks about 10 months pregnant here at school. We just had midterms, but she's already had to miss tons of classes and then get stuff done. My question is... why not wait for a bit before continuing the ol' schooling? I mean, it's not like once the baby is born she'll have tons of free time and be able to spend more time in class, right?
Insurance? I attended grad school while pregnant with my first partly in order to ensure I'd have insurance coverage (through the school; most university insurance programs are a lot looser on what is considered a "pre-existing condition"). Maybe she's in the same boat.
Would you try hard to get into a highly competetive, extremely rigorous program when you're about to pop? You get the insurance whether you you're in Liberal Arts and Sciences or Astrophysics. The fact is, this girl may have jeaporized her education by coming into the architecture program and missing so much school. Her GPA will be down the tubes. If she was going to grab the university insruance, she should have gone into LAS then transfered to architecture later.
